Please join us for our first official dinner meeting of the new year with Bruce Wahlgren!

Real learning takes place when we stop talking and our learners start talking.  When we do this, we make our classes and/or workshops more interesting, engaging and memorable.

During this highly interactive and dynamic program, you'll discover and apply the concepts that help your attendees learn more quickly and effectively.  The concepts are based on the latest brain research that has uncovered how the human brain really learns.  Based on Sharon Bowman's book, Training from the BACK of the Room.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Discover how your learning style influences the way your present and teach.
  2. Learn six powerful brain-based learning principles that you can apply every time you train, teach or coach others.
  3. Experience activities that you can use to make your workshops and classes more interesting and interactive.

About Our Presenter:

Bruce Wahlgren, GCDF, CPRW, C5SI

Bruce has over 18 years’ experience in training and development, having worked as a career coach, training coordinator, program manager, and Executive Director. He led Maryland’s professional development and capacity-building initiatives for the workforce development system for 13 years as director of the Maryland Institute for Workforce Excellence, during which time he discovered his passion for training and development.

When funding cuts eliminated “The Institute” in 2011, Bruce launched his own business, and through the Workforce Excellence Group, LLC, he offers training and development opportunities for both the public and private sectors. His business focuses on helping employees develop the essential (aka, soft) skills so crucial in today’s workplace, providing trainers and instructors with tools and strategies to help them become more effective, and teaching job seekers how to re-connect with employment in today’s economy.

Passionate about life-long learning, Bruce is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF), a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW), a certified Master Trainer for the Workplace Excellence Series soft skills curriculum, a Certified Master Trainer for the 5 Steps to Rapid Employment program, and will soon be a Training from the Back of the Room Certified Master Trainer.
