Leon has been in the learning and development / performance improvement world for 15+ years in a variety of industries. Leon began his career as a facilitator, first at the telecommunications company Ameritech and then at Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL). It wasn't long before Leon took on additional responsibilities that broadened his horizons. While still a facilitator, Leon was instrumental in the acquisition and implementation of the first LMS used at RCCL, which then grew into a corporate university representing many departments and entities reaching learning audiences at the three contact centers as well each of the ships within the RCCL fleet. While at RCCL, Leon also had the opportunity to develop content for, and facilitate to, learning audiences around the globe at each of the ports that RCCL sailed from.
After being at RCCL, Leon switched industries to enter into "interactive media" (video games) where Leon created and birthed a learning environment for a startup company with locations in Hunt Valley, MD and Galway, Ireland. Leon was responsible for the physical layout of the training rooms, the technology that went into the rooms, hired the training staff, the acquisition and implementation of the LMS, and was responsible for the content developed and delivered in the classrooms and the LMS.
After several years in the video game industry, Leon again changed industries to enter the world of healthcare. Presently, Leon is at Maxim Healthcare in Columbia, MD and responsible for identifying learning opportunities and developing learning experiences for the nation-wide audiences in the Divisional Operations and Business Development fields.
